World Population Infographic Tells a Shocking Story
An infographic by U-Pack Moving tells the intriguing story of how the world's population explosion is impacting the world we live in.
Fort Smith, Ark.— Nationwide moving service, U-Pack Moving, recently conducted a research study focused on compiling data into a World Population Growth infographic entitled How Humans Run the Earth. This descriptive infographic serves as a visual representation of how the world's vast population explosion over the past 60 years has dramatically affected the world we live in. The charts and graphs included in the World Population Growth infographic provide an intriguing look at where the world's population lives, how they consume resources and how the world is likely to change over the next 40 years as the population continues to rapidly grow.
"It wasn't surprising that Honolulu was the top city in the U.S. for quality of living," said Kay Lynn Clay, marketing manager for U-Pack. "As representatives in the moving industry, we see a relatively large number of people moving to Honolulu every year. But one of the research outcomes I did find surprising, and quite shocking, was that the world population is currently growing by 74 million people per year— the equivalent of a city the size of San Francisco every three days. It will be interesting to look back at this World Population Growth infographic over the next several years to see how accurate some of the predictions are."
Traditionally, infographics are used as visual representations of data— essentially an image that tells a story quickly and concisely. U-Pack's World Population Growth infographic tells a pictorial story of the 6.87 billion people on earth. The visual story covers topics including the best cities to live in, birth control statistics, migration patterns and ecocide. According to the research completed for this infographic, nearly 900 million people have no access to modern health services of any kind, and one in seven do not have enough to eat. Research also showed that only 8% of the world's population lives in North America, while 60% lives in Asia.
