Do you want to track your U-Pack shipment?
If you’re moving with U-Pack®, you’re probably aware that your price is based on the space you use in our moving equipment. What you may not know is that commercial goods are loaded in the unused space (separated by a bulkhead divider), and that the trailer is moved through a system of strategically-placed service centers until it reaches the destination terminal. This transportation model helps keep costs low, but it does mean your belongings won’t be traveling directly from point A to point B. It’s easy to keep track of your shipment throughout the entire move — all you need is a phone or internet access.
Why is shipment tracking beneficial?
Wanting to track your U-Pack shipment is just like wanting to track anything you buy online or order in a store. When you purchase a product or a service, you want to make sure it arrives in a timely manner and in the best shape. U-Pack tracking lets you:
- Stay up to date with the shipment's status
- Get an idea of when your belongings will be delivered so that you can schedule loading or unloading help
- Have peace of mind about where your household goods are traveling
What information do I need to track my shipment?
Tracking your U-Pack shipment only requires one of two things — either your reference number or ABF tracking number. You can locate these numbers on your:
- Bill of Lading (BOL). The Bill of Lading is the formal contract between you and U-Pack. Your tracking number (also referred to as an ABF PRO tracking number) can be found in the top right-hand corner — it will be on a label the driver will place on the BOL after dropping off the equipment. Your reference number can be found at the top of the document above the terminal numbers. See an example BOL.
- Move plan. This document is an easy-to-read form that details the information for your move. The 10-digit reference number is found in the top right-hand corner of all three pages. See an example Move Plan.
How to track your shipment
The process is simple. When you’re done loading the trailer or ReloCube®, call the local terminal for pickup (phone number provided on the Move Plan). Once the equipment is in transit, you can start tracking it by phone or online 24/7.
Phone. Just call 800-FOR-ABFS (800-367-2237). Enter “1” for express tracking, and then enter the ABF PRO tracking number. When you call, our automated system will tell you the most recent ABF terminal your shipment passed through, where it’s headed to next, and when it’s estimated to arrive at destination.
Online. If you have internet access, you can track your move online from any device (laptop, desktop, tablet or mobile). Simply visit the U-Pack website and click the move tracking link at the top of the page. Enter either your reference number or ABF tracking number, then click “Track Shipment” to see its status.
I’m having problems tracking my shipment
