The Best Organization Apps for the New Year

HomeRoutines

Works On: iPhone and iPad

Why we love it: If “Clean” is your middle name, then you’ll love this app! Housework gets done fast with this app because you can customize it to fit your home. Organize chores by day of the week, time of day, or by focus zones (like your child’s room). The app will even send you reminders so you can stay on track.

Android option: FlyHelper (free) is a similar app that helps you get your housework done in a snap. It also includes focus zones and daily/weekly routines to keep your house clean.

Grocery iQ

Why we love it: Dread the grocery store no more! Grocery iQ helps you get in and out fast, all while getting what you need in one trip. The key features include grocery lists, custom aisle lists, favorite items, barcode scan, voice search, history of what you’ve bought before, and coupons!

Why we love it: It’s the ultimate family organizer. You can sync each family member’s schedule into one calendar (so no one accidentally misses the soccer game), create shopping and to-do lists, or jot down a special moment in the family journal. No one in the family will ever miss a beat with this app.

Swackett

Cost: Free

Works on: Android, iPhone and iPad (Lite Version)

Why we love it: It’s so easy to figure out the weather (and what to wear) with this app! Just open the app and see what the “peeps” are wearing and dress accordingly. You can also see the weather outlook for the coming days.

Looks

Cost: Free

Works on: iPhone and iPad

Why we love it: Speaking of picking out something to wear, the Looks app can be very helpful. Snap your favorite looks straight from your closet and categorize them in the app. When you’re not sure what to wear to work or just ‘out and about’, a quick app check will give you some easy outfit ideas. It’s a time saver in the mornings!

Android Option: Personal Closet Life (free) is similar to the Looks app. You can create outfits, organize your closet, and even search and filter clothes and accessories.

BigOven

Cost: Free

Works on: Android, iPhone and iPad

Why we love it: With more than 250,000 recipes, you can plan and organize your weekly meals wherever you go. Store your favorite recipes, share them with others, and learn new ones. This app has been downloaded more than 9 million times, so don’t miss out!

Evernote

Cost: Free

Works on: Android, iPhone and iPad

Why we love it: If you’ve got sticky notes posted all over the place, then it’s time for Evernote. This app lets you take notes (and keep them organized), create lists, record voice reminders, and even capture photos. The best part is that it’s completely searchable and can be synced with all your devices.

Mint

Works on: Android, iPhone and iPad

Why we love it: It’s money management at its simplest. And simple is good! With this app, you can see all your transactions (bank, credit, investments, loans, retirement) all in one place. Mint lets you categorize your transactions and set budgets for each category. They’ll even alert you if you go over your budget.

Dropbox

Cost: Free (includes 2GB of space!)

Works on: Android, iPhone and iPad
Why we love it: Dropbox makes it easy to access your photos, documents, and videos from any device (very handy when you’re constantly on-the-go)! Just install the app and start saving what’s important to you. If you ever lose your tablet or smartphone, anything you upload to Dropbox won’t be lost.

iRewardChart

Keep the kids motivated with the iRewards app..jpg

Cost: $3.99

Works on: Android, iPhone and iPad

Why we love it: One word…motivation. Your kids will be begging to do their chores (okay, maybe that’s a little extreme), but they’ll be encouraged to complete their responsibilities or maintain good behavior once they know they’ll be rewarded for it. The stars act as currency, and you decide how many they have to get for each task in order to receive the reward (which is also up to you). Pretty neat!
