1. How much does U-Pack cost?

U-Pack rates are based on several factors: where you’re moving to/from, when you’re moving and how much you’re moving. Prices are based on the space you use (instead of the weight of the shipment), and they include the equipment, transportation, fuel, limited liability coverage and taxes. 2.  How do rates compare to other companies?

The easiest way to compare is to get a U-Pack quote and check rates. Because there’s no extra charge  for things like fuel and liability coverage, we’re often a better value. Compare U-Pack to PODS®, U-Haul® and Budget® truck rental.

3. What areas do you service?

With more than 230 service centers U-Pack provides long distance moving services to all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Canada. To see if U-Pack services your address, get an online quote, or call our office and a moving consultant will check for you.

4. Can U-Pack transport my pet?

Though we cannot move pets, we do offer helpful tips for moving pets long distance that can help make the trip easier (information on pet shipping is included as well)

5. How much loading and unloading time do I get?

Most U-Pack moves include three business days for loading and three business days for unloading. Help ensure loading goes smoothly with these loading tips.

6. What are your hours?

For quotes and reservations, our call center is open 24/7 (excluding major holidays). If you have questions or need to make changes to your reservation, the U-Pack team is available Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. CST and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To schedule equipment delivery or pickup, contact the local service center (hours vary depending on location) — the phone number is listed on your MyMove Plan.

7. Where is the nearest service center?

U-Pack has access to more than 230 service centers across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Check our coverage map for the location nearest you, or call a moving consultant at 800-413-4799.

8. What are the ReloCube dimensions?

ReloCubes measure 6’ x 7’ x 8’ (externally) and 70” x 82” x 93” (internally). They have a loading capacity of about 305 cubic feet, and hold a maximum of 2,500 lbs. One Cube fits into a standard parking space and typically holds the furnishings of a studio-size apartment. Learn more about ReloCube sizing here.

9. What are the dimensions of the trailer?

A U-Pack moving trailer measures 28’ x 8’ x 9’ (externally) and 394” x 96” x 108” (internally). It has a full capacity of about 1,944 cubic feet and can hold up to 22,500 lbs. It sits 48” off the ground and comes with a 2’ wide ramp. You don’t have to use the whole trailer — just pay for the space you use (down to a 5 ft. minimum). Learn more about trailer sizing here.

10. How does storage work?

In many locations, U-Pack offers storage in conjunction with long distance moves for both the Cube and trailer. We store your belongings right where you loaded them — there’s no transferring. We can store at the service center closest to origin or destination. A moving consultant can add storage to the move and discuss rates over the phone.

11.  What forms of payment are accepted?

You put a credit card on file when making a reservation, but nothing is charged until your belongings are in transit. Any major credit or debit card is accepted, and you can change the card on file before moving day by letting a moving consultant know.

12. What’s the best way to keep track of all my moving tasks?

Remember all the important tasks with our moving checklist. It takes you through eight weeks of moving to-dos from researching a new community to packing and getting settled in your new city.

13. Can U-Pack move to a military base?

U-Pack does military moves both on- and off-base. We can provide certified weight tickets (if requested before the move date) for reimbursement, and our military moving specialists check in to help make sure everything goes smoothly.

14. Can I load or unload at a storage unit?

Yes, we can deliver a trailer or Cube to a storage unit for loading or unloading. Just check with the property manager about leaving our 28’ trailer or ReloCube on the premises overnight.

15.  Does U-Pack deliver to college campuses?

Yes! Because of the size, ReloCubes are great for college moving. We also offer college discounts — ask a consultant for more information​.

16.  What is the cancellation policy?

You can cancel a move without charge up to one week before the move date. If the move is cancelled within one week of the move day, a cancelation fee applies ($50 within the week or $150 on moving day). The card on file will be charged the cancellation fee.

17.  Do I have to be present when the equipment is delivered or picked up?

Because a signature is required, someone is required to be present when the equipment is delivered.  You or someone over the age of 18 who can represent you (a family member, friend or neighbor) can accept the delivery and instruct the driver where to place the equipment. Though we recommend that someone be present when the equipment is picked up, it is not required.  

18.  Can U-Pack move my vehicle?

U-Pack can ship motorcycles, 4-wheelers, ATVs and lawnmowers as long as fluids are drained. However, we do not ship automobiles. We refer customers to Mr. Car Shipper® — you can contact them at 877-528-9627 for a quote.

19.  Is there online tracking?

Yes! You can track your shipment online  24/7 or by calling 1-800-367-2237. If you need help with shipment tracking contact a U-Pack moving consultant.

20.  Does U-Pack sell moving boxes?

The U-Pack Box Store sells a variety of moving supplies — from boxes and packing tape, to ratchet straps and ReloCube locks. Boxes and supplies are shipped to your home, with most orders arriving in 1-3 business days. Every box store order includes free shipping, and items often go on sale throughout the year.
