Summer Safety Tips for a Fun Summer

Here at U-Pack®, summer is our busiest time of the year. And it’s likely that after being cooped up inside all winter long, you’re ready to get busy having fun this summer. But before you let loose, get to know more than 100 summer safety tips to ensure a safe summer worth remembering!

  1. Spray your family with insect repellent when outside to keep mosquitoes, ticks, and other insects from biting you.
  2. Wear light-colored clothing when you are outside because it reflects the heat, while dark colors absorb the heat.
  3. Do a tick check every night.
  4. Never leave your kids alone near or in a pool, no matter their age or swim level. According to SafeKids.org, more than 830 kids ages 14 and younger die due to unintentional drowning.
  5. Check playground equipment before kids use it. Check for hot surfaces, unsecured ropes, and protective surfaces.
  6. Kids should wear closed-toed shoes and close-fitting clothing while on the playground.
  7. Always wear a helmet when riding a bike.
  8.  Make sure your kids’ bikes fit, as they may have grown taller since last summer.
