Some Fine Looking Boxes

You need to think outside the box. Whoever said that was not getting ready to move. Moving is all about the box. Make that, "boxes," because you'll need a lot of them to move. In fact, you can't move without boxes. At least not if you plan to take anything with you.

When it's time to move, you better be thinking inside the box.

The more boxes the better. Big boxes. Little boxes. Medium boxes. Tall boxes. Short boxes. Wardrobe boxes are particularly useful because they're like little bitty closets. You don't even have to take your clothes off the hangers before you put them in the box. Your clothes go directly from the closet into the wardrobe box — nonstop.

If this is your first move, or if it's been a while since you last moved, then you probably have a dim view of boxes. That's because unless you're a child, a box that's empty is not something you keep around. Nobody does. When is the last time you heard someone say, "Hey, man, that's a nice empty box you've got there – looks real good in here."

That all changes when it's time to move, which is why I'm here to give a piece of advice. If you don't watch out, you'll become a box junkie. You'll loose all your dignity. You'll do almost anything for a box. Moving day will get closer and closer and you'll find yourself cruising through alleys looking for boxes. You might even dive into dumpsters looking for boxes.

I've been there, and it's not pretty.

Suddenly you find yourself fixated on boxes. Even after you move, you'll still be eyeballing boxes. You'll comment on the sight of an empty box the same way another might comment on an attractive woman. "Whoa. Check out that fine box over there behind the store. What a box! Man, I could've used a box like that."

Better that you take the high road. Avoid the drama and the risk that comes from scavenging for boxes. After all, we're almost a decade into the 21st Century. You think George Jetson scavenges for boxes?

These days boxes are built expressly for moving. And there are people out there who will bring those boxes right to your front door. It's as easy as ordering pizza. All you do is visit the online box store at upack.com.

Myself, I visit the online box store all the time. And let me tell you, they've got some mighty fine looking boxes in there. Whoa.
