U-Pack has a moving help center ready to answer all of your questions.

General Moving Resources

We have a few pages that are valuable to you no matter where you’re at in the moving process.

Get expert information. Our moving consultants have covered just about every topic about moving on the U-Pack blog. Check it out to learn more about everything moving.

Watch and learn. Another resource is our YouTube channel. We have several videos showing you how U-Pack works, how to pack, and more.

Ask the Experts. If you have a specific question to ask our moving consultants, click to Ask the Experts.

Visit the Resource Center. We have a great comprehensive list of moving resources with even more links and information available to you.

Help Before Your Move

This is a time of planning and preparation. Depending on your situation, you may not need every one of these links, but we’ve included them, just in case.

Get a moving quote. U-Pack makes getting a quote simple. Just click and get a quote online.

Download a moving checklist. Our U-Pack moving checklist is one of our favorite resources. It takes you through every step of your move, including transferring records, cleaning, packing and more!

Research your new community. Start by reading our U-Pack city page, and then check out TripAdvisor or Yelp to find places to visit.

Order boxes and moving supplies. The sooner you order moving boxes and supplies, the sooner you can start packing. Our experts recommend ordering boxes about 5 weeks out from your move. This gives you time to get the order in and take your time packing.

Contact a realtor to find your new home. Go to Realtor.com to find an agent in your area.

Change your address. You can change your address in person for free, or online for a small fee.

Schedule utilities to be transferred. You can contact each company individually, or check out ConnectUtilities.com or MoveUtilities.com to do it all at once.

Make travel arrangements for your pets. Depending on your method of travel, you may want to make arrangements for your pets to travel separately. Pet transport is available through uShip – click over to get a quote.

Use up items that you can’t ship. Check out the U-Pack Do Not Ship List for items that you need to use up, discard, or make alternate shipping arrangements for.

Make plans to ship your vehicle. If you need to ship a vehicle, check out uShip for quotes.

Confirm parking for your moving trailer or moving container. If you’re planning on parking your moving equipment on a city street, in a housing edition, your apartment, or storage building parking lot – make sure you have permission before moving day. You may need a permit from the city or permission from your HOA or landlord. Read more about parking permits here.

Send moving notices to friends. U-Pack created handy ecards to send to family and friends. Let them know of your new address and phone number with our moving notices.

Be familiar with packing and loading tips. As you pack and prepare for moving day, read over our packing tips and loading tips to make sure you’re up to speed on best practices. You want to make sure you pack and load properly to avoid damage to your items.

Help During Your Move

Track your shipment. If you move with U-Pack, we take care of everything during your move. If you want to keep track of your shipment while it’s in transit, you can call us at 800-413-4799 or track it online.

Help After Your Move

Once your shipment arrives, of course your first order of business will be unloading. But after you get all the boxes inside, there are a few more things to take care of.

Get new driver’s license. Most states require new licenses within a designated period of time – 30, 60, or 90 days depending on the state. Check DMV.org for the requirements and guidelines for your state.

Get a P.O. Box in your new city. If you need to get a P.O. Box after moving, we’ve outlined the steps for getting a P.O. Box in a different city in one of our blog posts.

Transfer automobile tags. Different states have different requirements for registering a vehicle. Again, check with DMV.org to find out the specifics for your new state.

Keep your documents until tax time. There are many tax deductible moving expenses, so hang on to your paperwork. If you need to get a copy of your U-Pack documents after your move, we have a document retrieval tool for you.

If there are any questions you still need answered, just leave a comment here. We’re happy to help!
