What to Know When Moving from Florida
If you are about to make a move, and you happen to be moving from Florida, there are a few things that you should know.

Florida is Kind of a Hotbed for Scam Companies
In fact, a quick look at Moving Scam cautions, "Be extremely cautious before hiring any FL company, especially south FL, because many scam and dubious companies are run out of FL".  This basically means if you happen to be moving from Florida, you are in the middle of it.  Researching the companies that you are considering is extremely important in this region, because your local choices may include companies that you would NOT want to use.

Most People Move TO Florida
According to eFlorida, the state has added over 2.8 million residents in the last decade.  You might be interested to know that if you're moving from Florida, you should be able to score a better moving rate, since moving equipment travels into Florida more often than it moves out. To help combat the possibility of equipment shortages, companies may provide a lower quote for moves out of Florida. Sometimes, going against the flow really pays off!

Buy a Jacket
This may seem like a strange moving tip, but if you are moving from Florida (or any extremely southern state) to a location farther north, you will probably be looking at a wardrobe change.  Not only are clothing styles different across the U.S., you will find that in much of the country, winter will NOT consist of 60 and 70 degree weather.  So get ready to bundle up and enjoy a snowy Christmas!
