Moving with a U-Pack ReloCube

“The U-Pack service was provided in a professional, timely and cost-effective manner. The ReloCube™ was easy to load and unload, and the furniture was delivered without damage.” – Robert G., who moved from Delaware to Arizona.

Does that sounds like the kind of move you want? A ReloCube might be the best option. See what Cubes are, how they work, and all the specifics.

What is a U-Pack® ReloCube?

Cubes are portable moving and storage containers made of metal. They’re easy to load, sitting at ground level. You can use one or multiple to move long distance.

What is the ReloCube size?

One container is 6’ x 7’ x 8’, and typically holds the contents of a small studio apartment or one room’s worth of furniture and boxes. For more specific internal dimensions, take a closer look at the ReloCube size — you can fit a lot in one! They will hold king size mattresses, sofas and other large pieces of furniture. Read more about what fits in a Cube.

How much does a ReloCube cost?

Rates are based on a few factors: where you’re moving to/from, how much you’re moving and the move date. Since all of these contribute to the cost, there’s no set price per Cube. U-Pack works hard to keep rates low, and customers enjoy flexibility by only paying for the containers actually used. We also offer additional ways to keep your moving costs low like loading at a service center. During the reservation process, ask a U-Pack specialist how you can move on a budget.

How many Cubes will I need?

The number of Cubes needed is based on how much you’re moving. One Cube typically holds one room of furniture and boxes, so if you’re moving a fully-furnished one-bedroom apartment, you may need 2-3. To help put it into perspective, the loading space available in six Cubes is similar to that of one 28 ft. trailer. Because you can reserve the number of Cubes you think you’ll need, but only pay for those you need, it’s often a good idea to estimate up. We recommend using a space estimator tool, and then to figure out the price, get a free moving quote online. If you’re still unsure of how much space you need, a U-Pack moving specialist can help — call 800-413-4799 for assistance.

How does moving with a ReloCube work?

The ReloCube option was designed to make moving easier. Cubes are easy to load, sitting at ground level. They’re also great for areas with limited parking, like apartments or college dorms. The process is simple:

Delivery

U-Pack delivers ReloCubes to your home. Each Cube fits into a standard-size parking space, and they can be placed on paved, level surfaces (Read more about Cube parking).

Loading

You load your belongings inside, tying everything down using ropes or straps and the logistics tracking along each wall.

Security

Lock the ReloCube with your own lock. ReloCube locks should have at least a 2” shank height and a maximum 3/8” shank diameter. Order a ReloCube lock in the U-Pack Box Store.

Transportation

U-Pack picks up the Cubes, and they start traveling across the country. They travel in an enclosed trailer for additional protection, and you can track your shipment online. Average transit time is 2-5 business days — the moving quote will include transit times for your move.

Storage

You can store containers at either origin or destination at a secure storage center.  Storage is available for as long as you need it, and rates vary depending on location. Learn more about ReloCube storage here.
