Don’t we wish that all moving companies were cheap moving companies – especially in this economy? I think yes. But, here’s the big question: Is cheaper always better? Sometimes yes. Sometimes no.

What are your reasons for moving to a new city – brand new job, a job transfer, getting closer to family, getting married, restarting your life? Whatever has you moving, the first order of business is to get a plan.
I know; we’re always talking about plans around here. But experience tells us that when it comes to something as big as a move to a new city, knowing the how, when, and where of what’s going to happen is a huge game-changer.

I wish there was a simple answer to that question. Though it leans toward being as complicated the age-old “What is the meaning of life?” question. But here’s what I can tell you (with confidence): the best place to start is by getting moving quotes. It sounds simple, doesn’t it? Before you can figure out which service is most affordable, you’ll need to have prices to compare. Just make sure to start early; I recommend at least 30-60 days in advance. That gives you plenty of time to research, weigh the pros and cons of each mover and make sure you’re getting all of the services you need (while still staying within your budget).

They say it is one of the most stressful things you go through during your life. So how do you get through it without losing it and maybe even with a little grace too? Moving to a new city is so exciting! Though you may miss some of your favorite restaurants back home, now you’ll get to find new ones, and trying them out is the best part. (As long as they’re good, right?)

“If you fail to plan you plan to fail.” Have you ever heard this little saying? I think it applies perfectly to moving. The good news is that you can have a successful, worry-free move just by doing a little prep work ahead of time.
