That’s a tough question to answer without seeing your belongings. And if you're like most people, the thought of a stranger walking through your home to do an in-home estimate isn't very comforting. Crossing state lines doesn’t seem like such a big deal, right? I mean, there are spots where you can stand in two states at once, like in Texarkana, Arkansas and Texarkana, Texas; or in the Four Corners area of Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. But taking your household goods across state lines is a big deal—at least when it comes to moving.

The United States Postal Service offers a couple of convenient options to make the process easy: a temporary change of address if you plan to move back within 12 months; or a permanent change of address if you have no plans to move back.
