He drove his station wagon all the way from Chicago to Los Angeles just so his family could experience Walley World amusement park—now that’s dedication! Benjamin Franklin once said “A penny saved is a penny earned.” But these days, saving pennies isn’t always as easy as it sounds – especially if you’re in a situation where the money coming in is in line with the money going out. Sure, you could manage your budget with a fine-tooth comb and cut out all of your unnecessary expenditures – like the premium cable channels, your morning latte, or the Coach® bag you just need to have.

Confession time: I love watching The Real Housewives. It doesn’t matter if its Miami, Orange County, or New Jersey, I can’t get enough of their sass, parties, and beautiful homes. And since I work for a moving company, seeing their big homes (and big personalities) makes me wonder what the Housewives are like on moving day. I think we can all learn a little something from these, shall we say, spirited ladies. Here’s what we’ve gathered from a few popular Housewives—try applying these tips to your own move!
When an unforeseen circumstance (like moving long-distance for a job transfer) comes your way and you need to end your lease early, it’s important to handle it the right way to avoid undesirable repercussions. A lease is a legal, binding contract, and that means you’re required to pay rent until the agreement is up. But, don’t start worrying just yet. In some cases you can get out of your lease with no – or very little – penalty. You’ll just need to follow the right course of action before packing up and moving out.
From my perspective, the best thing about moving is getting a clean slate to decorate. Don’t you absolutely love walking into an empty room, imagining all of the decorating possiblities? I'll admit that I’m not all that creative on my own, but give me a great, step-by-step DIY blog or some awesome instructional Pinterest pins, and this girl's ready to get decorating! What did we ever do without them?
