I’m moving long distance. What are the best moving companies for the job?

Do you want to rent a truck?
If you're trying to save money on a cross-country move, intuition may tell you that you have to rent a truck. And that thought may cause concerns that make you dread moving. Am I choosing the right size rental truck
? Can I drive that far in a huge vehicle that I’m not familiar with? How am I going to drive it through large cities? How difficult will it be to tow my vehicle? Will my stuff be safe parked in a hotel parking lot overnight? Once I pay for gas, taxes and insurance, how much will it really cost to rent a truck? Is there a better way to move?

Let me point out that today we’re focusing on things you should know if you're moving to Kansas City, Missouri—but if you’re moving to Kansas City, KS, be sure to check back later—we’ll have some information for you, too. Though the areas similar because they share a border and are both part of the Kansas City Metropolitan area, they are two different cities in two different states, and you’ll definitely see some differences.
