November 2nd, 2011 - 3:16 PM
Is it as interesting to you as it is to me that there are states where as many as one in every 29 people play fantasy football?  And some of them are absolute Fantasy Football fanatics.  In fact, there's actually a "Fantasy Football Fanatics" LinkedIn group.  For real folks.  According to a 2010 Sports Illustrated article, it's estimated that close to 20 million people play.

Top Towns for Halloween Festivals | Infographic

October 26th, 2011 - 3:39 PM
It's that time again— ghosts, goblins, princesses and pirates roaming the streets, asking for candy.  Halloween!

People LOVE this time of year.  The air is crisp.  Leaves are turning and falling to the ground.  What better time to have a party!  Did you know that Halloween is the 2nd most decorated for holiday— right behind Christmas?  Even if that surprised you, I have a feeling you won't be shocked when I tell you that it's also the top holiday for candy sales. Who can pass up those little bite-sized Snickers® and Reece's Peanut Butter Cups®?  Not this girl.

Baseball Fan Loyalty Rankings in the Major Leagues | Infographic

October 19th, 2011 - 2:58 PM
This weekend, my husband and I watched Moneyball at the theater.  If you haven't seen it, you should.  Great movie— whether you're a baseball fan or not.  While the story and concept behind what Billy Beane did with the Oakland A's was super interesting, it made me think beyond how the game is won because it's also a story of fan loyalty.  It's not difficult to show-up for a team when they're on top, with all of the best, well-known, highest-paid players.  But it's a little more difficult when they're on a losing streak and the talent pool doesn't seem quite as awesome.

Universities With High On-Campus Populations Infographic

October 12th, 2011 - 10:33 AM
In my former life, I worked as a residence hall director at a university.  During that time I picked up on the importance of living on-campus, especially for underclassmen.  Studies show that students who live on campus have higher GPAs, are more likely to graduate, do a better job of making friends and getting connected, have less stresses about money, become more successful leaders, and have a better over-all college experience.  I'll take that.

Top 5 Must See Baseball Parks

October 3rd, 2011 - 10:44 AM
One of my co-workers just recently started doing something I think is really cool.  He and his wife have a goal to visit every Major League baseball stadium in the U.S. So far they've marked four off their list:  Rangers Ballpark to see the Texas Rangers, Chase Field to see the Arizona Diamondbacks, Busch Stadium to see the St. Louis Cardinals and Kauffman Stadium to see the Kansas City Royals.  They've got somewhere around 25 more to go— that ought to keep them busy for a while!  What an awesome addition to your bucket list.
