There’s a lot to consider when figuring out the best time to move. Whether you’re planning around the kids, a job, or something else, you’ll need to know the best time to move your belongings to your new home.

If you’ve got some flexibility to your move, consider the following options:
Choose an off-peak moving day
Did you know that the summertime is the busiest moving season, unlike the fall or winter? If summer is your only option, plan your move on an off-peak moving day, like a weekday or at the beginning of the month. You’ll see higher prices at the end of the month and on weekends. Use our moving calendar to see the peak and off-peak moving days for your move.
Move during the school year
While you’ll be taking the kids out of one school, you’ll be putting them right into a new school, allowing them to easily adjust to the new school’s routine. The “new kid” nametag will fade quicker than if they start at the beginning of the year.
Move after Holidays
Anytime there is a holiday, expect higher moving prices. People like to move around holidays because they have time off. Christmas, Independence Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving are the busiest holidays for moving, so consider moving immediately after the holidays have past.

I think after holidays are the best time to move as there will not be any tensions after that.
