State to State Movers It’s Flashback Friday! Each week U-Pack revisits a blog topic that has been helpful to our readers. Today’s flashback—“State to State Movers”. This post introduces U-Pack as a great, cost-effective way to move across state lines. Make sure to check out the comments too. U-Pack customers often ask great questions and have insightful input. Happy Friday!
If you’re searching for state-to-state movers, you may have found that the local mover you’re familiar with isn’t able to move you across the state line. Because of licensing restrictions (out-of-state movers are regulated by the Department of Transportation), many will actually refer you to an Interstate (or state-to-state) moving service like U-Pack—the easy, low-cost way to move long-distance and across state lines.
Here’s how moving state-to-state with U-Pack works:
You load your belongings and pay only for the space you use.
ABF delivers to your door at your new home.
You unload.
Of course, with U-Pack you also have the option to add standard loading and unloading services—or you can step it up a notch and choose a full-service move with U-Pack’s sister moving service—MoveBuilder.
About moving state-to-state with U-Pack As you can tell by the description of how U-Pack works, it differs slightly from what you might traditionally think of when you’re searching for state-to-state movers. Likely full-service van lines are the companies that come to mind. But thanks to ‘you pack, we drive’ services like U-Pack, there are more affordable options. Customers are sold on U-Pack because of the competitive prices, ABF’s excellent reputation in the industry and its flexibility (which is a big deal when you’re dealing with the stress of moving)!
In fact, the affordable price is the top reason so many customers choose U-Pack to move state-to-state. When we take a look at post-move survey results from the past year, 79% of U-Pack customers choose the service because of price.

I am a single Mom, with no help at all moving. I need muscle help moving my large furniture. Your trucks and drivers sound great, but I need help loading the heavy items. Any suggestions?

Michelle, You may consider pairing your U-Pack move with a packing and loading service we recommend called Moving Staffers. Moving Staffer's phone number is 888-409-6617.

On your website you market 100% satisfaction guaranteed and that you can move “virtually anywhere” in 2-5 business days. When my wife setup our move GVP1030570-D it was estimated to take 3 days. We are on day 6 and the truck is still in Ohio where is has been since its 2nd day in transit. I called this morning to check on its status to be told that we didn’t select a guaranteed option. Upon further conversations with the Brattleboro office my wife found that there is no such option. So how can you flaunt any sort of guarantee when you don’t offer it? We were never made aware that is was an option to be selected and to top it off your branch manager is unaware of such a thing? So which is it? Your sales rep never offered such a thing and your manager is telling me it doesn’t exist!

Josh, I have received your email which I will respond to personally. But I also wanted to post on the blog so you would know that we are taking this situation very seriously and are currently doing everything we can to expedite your delivery. I'll explain via email how the guaranteed service works and I am truly sorry if you weren't made aware of this option during your move setup process.

Im planning a move from MA to MO and want to understand the guaranteed service option before I sign up for anything.

Elizabeth, all U-Pack shipments come with an "advertised transit time." From MA to MO, your transit time will likely be about 4 business days (we can verify that). With guaranteed service, we will guarantee this time - rather than estimate it. It comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you have time-definite needs on the delivery side, this is a good option.

I would need about 7 days between pick up and delivery, so that I can drive a 1,000 miles, find a place for my goods, and meet the delivery with unloading personnel on site. Please advise

Joan, your need for 7 days driving time should be no problem. We estimate 4 business days (not counting day of pickup or weekends) and even if we arrive before you do, we will hold your shipment at our destination ABF terminal for 2 business days at no charge to you.

Honestly I have little to no clue about state to state moving that instead of calling local BC movers for my move from BC to Alberta, I contacted an Alberta moving company. Well, I got the help I needed anyway. Thanks to blogs like this one, Ill know what to do or what advice to give friends who plan on moving.
