Can I Ride with the Driver?

The quick, simple response is "no".

First, most of our trucks only have one seat. Seriously. The trucks are called ’Day Cabs' which means they are only meant to be driven for the day. Our drivers only drive the maximum amount of time allowed by law and these trucks have no sleeper compartment.

This brings me to the second point. Our drivers drive from ABF terminal to ABF terminal. Therefore, more than likely they won't take the most direct route to your destination. For instance, it is quite possible if you are moving from Jackson, MS to Orlando, FL your shipment will go through Atlanta. Obviously, this is not the way you would drive to Florida from Mississippi unless you are really, really lost.

By not riding with us, you are free to make your way to your destination any way you wish. You can drive across country and see the landscape. You can take a bus or train or you can fly and get there really quickly.  A lot of customers make it a mini-vacation – especially if they have family or friends to stop and visit on the way.

Our loading ramps are 14ft long and 2ft wide. They are provided free of charge with your trailer shipment. Here is a link to the page online that discusses the ramp: www.upack.com/ramp. I hope this helps.
