This morning I read a Forbes article on Yahoo! Finance that focused on College Degrees with the highest starting salaries. While I’m far removed from college (I’ll be attending my 20-year high school reunion this year!), this is something I’m very interested these days. My awesome, smart, talented nephew is graduating from High School in May, and he’s in the grueling process of deciding what school he’ll call home... Baylor or the University of Oklahoma (though I pushed for the University of Arkansas early on. Go Hogs!) At the same time, I’m acutely aware that across the nation graduating seniors and their parents (and maybe even some college freshmen and sophomores) are trying to figure out what they’ll do with the rest of their lives, and where they’ll live while they’re doing it. This is also the time of year where we begin getting calls and emails from students and parents who are planning college moves. What an exciting time! 10 Best Paying College Majors for Women Dental Hygienist Audiologist Occupational Therapist Physical Therapist Optometrist Pharmacist Physician’s Assistant Chiropractor General Practice Physician Registered Nurse Speech Pathologist Psychiatrist The Best Jobs That Don’t Require A Bachelor’s Degree Registered Nurse Dental Hygienist Supervisors of Construction and Extraction Workers Radiologic Technologists and Technicians Electricians Plumbers, Pipefitters, and Steamfitters Construction Managers Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Respiratory Therapists Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanics and Installers Wholesale and Manufacturing Sales Representatives Insurance Sales Agents Physical Therapist Assistants Brickmasons and Blockmasons Administrative Service Managers Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurses Industrial Machinery Mechanics First-Line Supervisors of Helpers, Laborers, and Material Movers Operating Engineers and Other construction Equipment Operators First-Line Supervisors of Office and Administrative Support Workers Hopefully these lists will prompt you to start digging into careers that may appeal to you.
