Most people are aware that Alaska has some pretty harsh winters. In fact, the conditions can be a concern if you need self storage when you’re moving to Alaska because you aren’t ready to move in right away.

After you load, we can store your things at the ABF Service Center closest to the city you are moving from or at our Tacoma, WA service center until you’re ready to have it delivered to your residence in Alaska. With this option, your items don’t have to endure the harsh Alaskan winters.

Here's how it works:

Storage at Origin

• We deliver the moving trailer or ReloCube to your residence.
• You have up to three business days to load it.
• We pick it up and bring it back to our service center to store it for as long as you need.
• When you’re ready to have it delivered to your Alaskan residence, you call and let us know.
• We’ll begin transit to Alaska.
• Everything remains exactly how you packed and loaded it while it’s in storage and in transit – we never unload or reload your items.

Storage in Tacoma

• We deliver the ReloCube or moving trailer to your residence.
• You have up to three business days to load it.
• We pick it up.
• The trailer begins transit to our Tacoma, WA service center where it is stored.
• When you are ready to have it delivered, you call and let us know.
• We’ll begin transit from Tacoma to Alaska.
• By storing in Tacoma, you will typically get your items faster than if you choose storage at origin.  It normally only takes about a week to deliver to your residence in Alaska from Tacoma.
