2012 Election Results Map from U-Pack
A friend recently moved from The South to Connecticut. After seeing the results of last night’s election, she was surprised that she had moved to a strong Democratic state—it’s something she hadn’t thought about before she moved. If you are planning a move, and you feel strongly about moving to a state with residents who vote predominately for the political party you’re affiliated with, take a look at the Election Results Map below. It’s color-coded based on 2012 Election Results.
*Red states are those that voted Republican majority for Mitt Romney. Blue states are those that voted Democratic majority for Barack Obama. As of right now, Florida is still awaiting final results, but several news networks have called the state for Obama.

I’m not sure how I missed this. I’m usually fairly on top of things happening both politically and in the moving realm . But, I just ran across a news story on CNN.com from back in September that grabbed my attention. Reportedly, a U-Haul truck, packed with security equipment for a campaign event featuring Vice President Joe Biden, was stolen right out of a Detroit hotel parking lot. But no worries, the U-Haul and most of its contents were recovered the very next day. And, the event carried on as planned. Whew.

So, I just read a very interesting article in Search Engine Land
that absolutely everyone thinking about moving should read.
It looks like the US Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation has written to Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo! asking the popular search engines to examine the practices of some moving services that are using "bait-and-switch" tactics on consumers who find the companies as a result of an online search.
It’s about time.
