Moving cubes, what a great idea! That’s exactly what U-Pack thought when we designed the ReloCube®, a 6’ x 7’ x 8’ portable moving and storage container that sits flat on the ground.
What makes it even more perfect is that you can rent as many as you think you’ll need, and pay only for what you actually use. That’s right. Let’s say you’re moving a one-bedroom apartment and you’ve got a lot of stuff. You’ve completed every space estimator you can find and you really think you need three moving cubes. ABF drops three cubes off at your apartment, you start loading. Half-way through, you decide you don’t want the raggedy old couch and matching chair, or the five boxes of clothes you don’t wear anymore—do... Read More
Storage units can come in pretty handy sometimes, especially when you're moving. Moving storage containers can be used for things like staging your home to help it sell, or even for temporarily storing items until you're able to get settled into your new place. The only problem is having to lug your items back and forth across town to the storage place. Then there's the transportation factor: you may have to rent a moving truck just to get your items to and from the storage lot. And all that work is just for the storage— you'll still have to load/re-load your items when it comes time to actually move!
And now for the good news: movable storage containers take care of those problems. U-Pack's ReloCube® is a 6'x7'x8' weatherproof movable storage container that you're a... Read More
Have you noticed how much the word pods' is used these days? Remember back when the word just meant something that had to do with a flowering plant? My how times have changed.
So, it seems U-Pack has joined the bandwagon. Not on purpose, it just happened. Our moving and storage containers are called ReloCubes – but lots of people call them moving pods. I guess because moving pods' is such a catchy term. Even though we're not PODS®, it doesn't bother us when customers refer to our ReloCubes as moving pods', since the meaning of the word has evolved – and actually in a round-about way pertains to what we do.
Think about it…you store music in the Apple iPod. Pre-packaged coffee beans in... Read More
When you're talking about U-Pack moving containers – ReloCubes – there are several things:
Easy to park. They fit right into a standard-sized parking space so you don't have to worry about blocking traffic.
Easy to load. They sit flat on the ground so you can carry your stuff in without the use of a ramp.
Easy to secure. The tie-down points located throughout the moving containers allow you to tie everything down to keep it from shifting in transit. Then, you get to put your own lock on it and keep the key.
Gone are the days where your storage options were limited to packing everything and moving it into your relative's garage or into a rental truck to unload in the storage facility across town. Now there's portable storage. So much easier *sigh*. Now you just load and unload it once – and your relatives don't have to look at it in their garage.
If you're just starting to compare portable storage containers, consider the U-Pack ReloCube. By the way, it's pronounced Relo (like the first part of relocation') and Cube (like a box). Clever…I know.
Really, they're just a pretty cool way to move. And I'm particularly partial to the U-Pack moving container – the ReloCube®. They're the "in" way to move these days. And who doesn't want to move the "in" way? I know…you're wondering why they're so "in". Here's my guess – These days people are looking for convenience, ease and most of all, ways to save money. Since that's what you get with a ReloCube, it makes sense that people love them.
When ABF designed this moving container, we designed it with a purpose – to be sturdy, to protect customer's belongings from the elements, to be easy to load and unload, a... Read More
A lot of people ask me how to decide which moving services they should choose – ReloCube or ABF trailer? To be perfectly honest, it is not as cut and dry as you might think. You really could go either way just based on your preferences. So, let me lay out some advantages of both options and hopefully, this will help you decide.
Is Parking an Issue? If it is, I recommend the ReloCube – it's a great moving and storage container. It's small and fits into a standard sized parking space. This is ideal if you live in an apartment complex or a city where parking is at a premium.
Speaking of apartment complexes… We've found that most apartment managers don't mind the ReloCube since it's small. However, we always recomm... Read More
U-Pack is a great option for moving large shipments, but what if you're not moving an entire household? What if your child is going to college out of state or you just have personal items to send? What if you downsized? What if you just plain don't have parking for a 28 foot moving trailer in front of your home? Well, we have an answer! ABF also offers moves inside a ReloCube if any of these situations fit you. Our ReloCubes are 6'x7'x8' and can fit into a single parking space. It doesn't sound like much but these things can really hold a lot of stuff! Even better news…we set them right on the ground and you can put your ... Read More
