What should I pack first?

Mark Twain once said, “If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.” What great advice for those planning a move across the country! When you’re dealing with an overwhelming task like packing up your house – where you know you have to do it, but you don’t know where to start – why not tackle the “big frog” first? You’ll be glad you did.

Nicknames for People Who Live in Different States

Funny story: several years ago, there was a pretty heated debate in my home state of Arkansas. Believe it or not, we were divided over whether we are “Arkansans” or “Arkansawyers”. If you’re moving and have no idea what to call yourself or the other residents of your new state, we’ve got you covered.

The official term for this type of nickname is demonym—and some of them aren’t always obviousThink about it: if you’re from the United States of America, you’re American, but if you’re from the Netherlands, you’re Dutch. State resident nicknames can be just as confusing.

There are certain moving supplies that are absolutely necessary for a successful long-distance move, and plastic wrap (also known as stretch wrap) is one of those supplies.
